Directions

The department is located at the Campus Roeterseiland in the historic center of Amsterdam. Parking in the neighborhood is difficult, if not impossible, but the department can be reached easily by public transportation. Visitors enter the REC A/B/C/D campus through the main entrance at Nieuwe Achtergracht #166.

• From within the city: by foot:
  It is a thirty minute walk from either Central Station or the Amsterdam Amstel station.
• From within the city: by public transportation:
  Take the metro and go to metro station Weesperplein (either from Amsterdam Central Station or from Amsterdam Amstel Station, any metro will do). From there it is only a five minute walk. Take the Valckenierstraat/UvA exit and walk North along Weesperplein. Pass Cafe Noir, the Cantarell restaurant and the GGD SOA Clinic till one hits a canal after only 100 metro: Nieuwe Achtergracht. Turn right, walk 200 more meters and cross Roetersstraat. The entrance is at the right side of the canal, opposite the footbridge.
• From Schiphol airport:
  by train: direction 'Amsterdam Centraal Station', then the metro to Weesperplein
